WIPO Domain Arbitration Results in Transfer of “.Co” Domain to SSJR Client

SSJR successfully obtained transfer of the domain registration karlstorz.co in a UDRP domain name arbitration proceeding on behalf of its client Karl Storz GmbH & Co. KG. (“Karl Storz”)

The registrant argued against the transfer on the basis that it intended to make fair use of the domain to post stories about a fictional cat with the name “Karl Storz.” The arbitration Panelist agreed with SSJR’s arguments that registrant’s contention was a contrivance unsupported by any evidence and gave rise to the inference that the domain was registered in bad faith. The Panelist ruled in favor of the Complainant on all UDRP elements and granted the request to transfer the domain to Karl Storz.
