SSJR Wins Trademark Opposition To BILLBOARD LIVE In China

SSJR won a decision at the Chinese Trademark Review and Appeal Board (“TRAB”) sustaining the opposition filed on behalf of its client Prometheus Global Media LLC, owner of the trademarks for BILLBOARD magazine. The TRAB ruled that the applicant’s mark BILLBOARD LIVE, when used on clothing, was likely to be confused with Prometheus’ famous BILLBOARD trademarks. This decision once again demonstrates the value of registering and enforcing important trademarks in China.
