SSJR Successfully Appeals Trademark Refusal
SSJR obtained approval for the trademark AMERICAN ART THERAPY ASSOCIATION (with design) after appealing to the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. The USPTO withdrew the refusal to register and approved the mark for publication after consideration of SSJR’s appeal brief. The appeal brief argued that the mark was entitled to register on the basis of acquired distinctiveness due to the applicant’s prior registrations.
