SSJR Secures Allowance of Medical Device Patent Claims at Appeal
Steven Simonis of St. Onge IP secured allowance for a combined illuminating suction surgical device after appealing the Examiner’s rejection to the Board of Patent Appeals and Interferences. The surgical device allows a surgeon to use one device to illuminate and aspirate a surgical site. In some embodiments the tip of the device may also be used to stabilize or hold tissue during a procedure. Issuance of a patent containing all pending claims is expected in due course.
