SSJR Continues Its Successful Enforcement Of Lemont Aircraft Cooling Fan Patents
June 10, 2010 by SSJR in IP Litigation
As a result of a negotiated financial settlement, SSJR’s client Lemont Aircraft Corp.’s patent infringement suit against Best Buy and Cooler Master asserting U.S. Patent No. 5,292,088 and No. 5,470,202 was dismissed. This is the latest in a series of successful settlements resulting from SSJR’s continued enforcement of Lemont Aircraft’s cooler fan patents. SSJR originally drafted the patents in the early 1990’s giving Lemont Aircraft the broadest protection possible for its cooler fan inventions.
Soon after issuance of the patents SSJR began licensing the technology and successfully enforcing the patents against infringers. For more than fifteen years, the cooler fan patents have been successfully asserted against or licensed to more than ten companies, including Matsushita, Aavid Engineering, Compaq Computer, Comp USA, GBT, Silverstone and Thermaltake among others. This is another example of SSJR’s full use of its capabilities to protect its clients intellectual property, from crafting robust patents, to efficiently conducting enforcement litigation, to deftly negotiating settlements and licenses. Using our wide ranging capabilties, SSJR continues to assist our clients in protecting their intellectual property assets and identifying business solutions that increase their profitability.
