Benjamin White Provides CLE Course on Patent-Eligible Subject Matter at 2016 Connecticut Legal Conference
SSJR Partner Benjamin White, along with two colleagues, provided a comprehensive background and practice update on patent-eligible subject matter for software inventions at the Connecticut Bar Association’s 2016 Connecticut Legal Conference. The course began with a summary of the historical lead-up to the Supreme Court’s Alice decision, an analysis of the Alice decision, and an analysis of important Federal Circuit software patent cases applying Alice. The course then walked practitioners through the implications that Alice has for software patent prosecution and litigation, and provided practice tips for both.
