Walter B. Welsh

Walter’s practice focuses on all aspects of intellectual property, with an emphasis on patent litigation. His patent litigation experience involves disputes regarding a wide range of technologies, products, and processes, including pharmaceuticals (Hatch-Waxman Paragraph IV proceedings), medical devices and instruments, software, e-commerce, and aviation. In addition to his patent litigation, Walter also has experience litigating copyright, trade secret, and unfair competition disputes. Prior to law school, Walter worked as an engineer at Cold Chain Laboratories in Holliston, Massachusetts where he designed and tested temperature sensitive pharmaceutical packages for clients seeking FDA approval of cold chain distributions. In 2001, Walter graduated from Tufts University School of Engineering with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. At Tufts, he concentrated on the study of heat transfer and fluid dynamics, and completed a design project optimizing the configuration of computer hardware components using computational fluid dynamic software.
